Utah’s state-of-the-art Rio Tinto Stadium is proud to welcome reigning Country Music Entertainer of the Year Kenny Chesney to the world-class venue on Thursday, July 23, 2009 at 5:30 p.m. MT. Chesney’s “Sun City Carnival” Tour also features Lady Antebellum, as well as fiery vocalist Miranda Lambert.

Since 1993, Chesney has recorded 13 albums, 11 of which have been certified gold or higher by the RIAA. He has also produced more than 30 Top Ten singles on the U.S. Billboard Hot Country Songs charts, 15 of which reached Number One. In addition, Chesney has received six Academy of Country Music (ACM) awards (including four consecutive Entertainer of the Year honors), as well as six CMA awards. Chesney is also one of the most popular touring acts in country music, regularly selling out the venues at which he performs; his 2007 Flip-Flop Summer Tour was the highest-grossing country road trip of 2007. He was awarded his 4th consecutive ACM Entertainer of the Year award on May 18, 2008. The Sun City Carnival, a tour designed to capture the freewheeling, carefree spirits that mark Chesney's time off the road. With a whole new stage being built, an even more powerful sound system being designed and video shot especially for the evening, this will be both an intimate and far more intense way to experience the high energy performer.

Early tailgating will be permitted in the lot north or Rio Tinto Stadium off 90th South. The Promoters tailgate party will actually take place on the East Lawn (no vehicles permitted). The winners of the troubadour contest will be located on the North lot across from the East Lawn/Team Store on Stadium Way.
